The Centre has reinstated seven hectares of habitat for Australia’s largest colony of Little Penguins.
The colour Cosmic® in Metallic finish was chosen for the roofing because of its neutral colour that also has depth and complements the penguins as they emerge glistening from the ocean.
LYSAGHT KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH® profile was selected for the roofing because of its long runs and concealed fixings, which help minimise the number of penetrations, making it strong and weathertight. Terroir says the profile also expedited the building program completion target ahead of the penguin breeding season because it could be quickly erected and provide shelter for other trades working underneath.

COLORBOND® Ultra steel has been specifically designed to combine long-term durability and excellent corrosion resistance. With a metallic coating mass of AM150, COLORBOND® Ultra steel is suitable for severe marine environments. For further guidance on choosing the right product for your project please refer to BlueScope Technical Bulletins 1A and 1B.
COLORBOND® steel Cosmic® is a core colour in a Metallic finish, however, it is not a core colour in the COLORBOND® Ultra steel range. Its use on the COLORBOND® Ultra steel substrate base is a custom colour application for this project. Custom colours for application to the COLORBOND® Ultra steel substrate may be available subject to a specifier’s enquiry, with longer lead times and minimum order quantities applicable.
